Well, things are much different in Doha, so I don't see this kind of thing here at all. It's pretty well known, though, that people in Qatar (citizens and expats alike) and the rest of the GCC, really, take weekend trips to Dubai for this very reason.

I went to a softball tournament in Dubai a couple of months ago, and saw some of this firsthand. The softball fields were right next to a hotel and several bars. My friends and I saw several prostitutes hitting on the players, who were mainly expats or military guys that had flown in from around the region. As my friend said, "I'd never seen a prostitute before tonight, but I knew she was when I saw her."

So many different things to say in response to this article, but I'll just ask: how visible is this side to the casual observer (or, more specifically, someone working there like you)? I've read a fair amount on this topic and am curious how visible it is.

It is amazing that this article fails to mention Hamas' missle attacks on Israel prior to any of the Israeli aggression we're now seeing, not to mention the aid Israel has been trucking into Gaza after their military strikes. Regardless, this whole battle is a strong reminder to pray for both sides, that a true peace that is not of this world would come to the whole region.
